This cityscape oil painting, featuring knife swipes and slices in vivid hues, explores the slings and arrows of love in all its glory. To the center of this romantic wall art, a young couple stands on the crosswalk of a busy city as the world blurs around them. The man is on one knee proposing to the woman, who’s dressed in vibrant red. Only they remain in focus, oblivious to the impending danger of traffic as it approaches. Much like real-life love, the piece is both insular and grand, showing the intimacy between the couple and the wider world that they navigate.

"New Day" (2023)

As an artist, I use art as a form of communication for my thoughts and feelings through a flawed medium. This contemporary artwork is created by layer upon layer of oil paint to create a whirlpool effect that hints at a world beyond the swirling water of the foreground. By entitling this piece "New Day," I hope to reach the down, the weary and the defeated with this modern oil painting and let them know that, while the circular whirlpool appears infinite, it will one day subside, as will the struggles they’re facing. A new day will, one day, arrive!

"A Toast To Eternity" (2023)

"A Toast To Eternity" is a tongue-in-cheek piece of contemplative art that makes a comment on the ‘live fast, die young’ lifestyle. This oil on canvas depicts a smartly dressed man with what appears to be blood on his hands, showing that he — like all of us — are slaves to mortality. He clasps his glass of champagne, which seems at juxtaposition with his desire to ‘Live Forever,’ a message emblazoned in red across the space where his face would be. Perched on his shoulders is a broken TV screen made from obsolete tech (note the red, yellow, and white RCA ports and large push on/off switch), suggesting that at one point we were all young and trendy — but, like everything in life, will one day fade from existence.

“Digress 3” is the newest one in the ‘Digress’ series, which further symbolizes how life unexpectedly digresses in ways we didn’t plan or prepare for.
Owls can be interpreted to represent transformative change, intuition, intellect, wisdom, and understanding. According to Freud, red owls in a dream represent negativity being pushed out of the subconscious.
The opinions of others, the fast pace of life, the weak and vulnerable state of a person, are all represented when red owls enter a dream, as they seek togetherness in a life that is out of control. The color red describes one’s energy and emotional signature as a message from the subconscious to pay attention to seemingly small decisions that can have significant consequences.
The red owls can also represent ambition and passion, suggesting a pursuit of a goal with a single-minded focus and determination while dealing with “balanced chaos” as life digresses.
